Delta Xi Nu Multicultural Sorority was founded by five extraordinary women, with the mission of promoting friendship, diversity, and cultural awareness on the Texas A&M University Campus and surrounding community.

They envisioned an organization where women of all cultures would feel welcome, and create lasting friendships, in addition to educating and serving the community. Being African American, Dutch, Irish/Mexican, Palestinian, and Puerto Rican, they wanted to tell the world that it was their differences that had brought them together and made them stronger.

All their hard work became a reality when Delta Xi Nu Sorority was finally recognized as a student organization on October 7, 1997. In 2016, Delta Xi Nu Sorority became a member organization of the National Multicultural Greek Council (NMGC).
